Our sites provide high-quality information and services using a variety of advertising and monetization methods. We serve advertisers by providing highly qualified and targeted in-market consumers.

As a Sales Executive for Penneybook .com, you will prospect and develop relationships with clients in order to grow our ad revenues for our cost-per-click rate tables and display advertising. The advertising base is in large part mortgage and banking institutions, with some insurance, credit card lenders, as well as automotive. The successful candidate for this important role must possess a blend of business and online savvy and a track record of success in online sales.

Responsibilities

  • Aggressively build sales pipeline via cold calling, networking and existing relationships.
  • Increase, initiate, maintain and deepen relationships with accounts in order to facilitate revenue growth.
  • Be an internal/external expert resource regarding Penneybook best practices, competitive landscape and specific competitors.
  • Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly/annual sales goals.
  • Review progress and discuss strategy with VP of Sales on a regular basis.

Experience & Attributes

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in online sales and business development.
  • Financial Services experience preferred; understanding of mortgage industry a plus.
  • Ability to build relationships with decision maker and influencers at large and small financial institutions and lenders.
  • A track record of success in working directly with both clients and agencies to close advertising packages that include both display and cost-per-click components.
  • BA/BS required. MBA a plus.
  • Articulate, well organized, self-motivated team player who enjoys relationship selling.

SEO Specialist

Penneybook is looking for a hands-on natural search engine optimization (SEO) professional who exhibits a quantitative/analytical approach to SEO. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong SEO capability, including knowledge of sound practices, technology, and tools. The ideal candidate must have a firm grasp of areas like site architecture, meta tags, keyword optimization, link building, SEO copywriting, and internal linking strategies. The candidate must have the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams throughout the firm. He/she must focus exclusively on white-hat SEO approaches, emphasizing the best execution and promotion of our high quality content and resources for human visitors, consistent with recommendations of major search engines.

Specific job functions include

  • Provides website recommendations that drive SEO goals and ensure strong presence
  • Drives on-page & off-page optimization for all web properties including technical optimization, high quality link building, and sitemap submissions, adhering to Penneybook and web standards
  • Performs competitive analysis and benchmarking
  • Collaborates with content and creative teams to refine and execute SEO recommendations
  • Recommends content approaches to gain natural attribution from authority sites
  • Recommends information architecture improvements to aid in search engine visibility
  • Monitors and measures search positioning
  • Keeps pace with SEO, social media, and internet marketing industry trends and work closely with the other team members to meet goals

Job Requirements and Experience

  • 2+ years progressive SEO experience implementing SEO practices for sites with substantial organic search traffic
  • Proficient with SEO
  • Experience with web analytics and data analysis tools; Adobe SiteCatalyst experience a plus
  • Solid technical understanding of web technologies, including search/web/internet protocols
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to translate analytic insights into actionable recommendations that improve natural search efforts
  • Understanding of basic HTML, CSS and code structure as it relates to SEO
  • Experience with XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags, and redirect development
  • Knowledge of SEO reporting tools such as Bright Edge, Webmaster Tools, Authority Labs, Moz, SpyFu, Raven, etc.
  • Attention to detail with a strong focus on analytics

Manager Ad Operations

The primary responsibility of this Ad Ops position is to manage ad campaigns and assist the sales team in achieving the company’s financial and sales goals.

To be successful in this position, an individual must develop a deep understanding of our website and be comfortable working with data sets and technology in order to proactively identify campaign issues and recommend optimization strategies and best practices.

This role requires creative troubleshooting, comfort with reporting technologies, and the ability to clearly communicate campaign recommendations. The Ad Ops position will be responsible for working closely with the Ad Ops and Sales team.

This position can be in our NYC office.

Responsibilities

  • Promote efficient workflow and best practices
  • Develop campaign management strategies that are aligned with business priorities, client strategies, timelines and goals
  • Combine data analysis and client feedback to configure, operate and optimize campaigns to meet client objectives
  • Oversee set-up, including testing methodologies, reporting requirements, and optimization requirements, for ensuring full impact and efficiency of each campaign
  • Lead the monitoring and reporting of campaign performance and proactively communicate any issues to internal team
  • Use data and analytics to help develop actionable media improvement recommendations to internal teams to maximize campaign success
  • Serve as the technology expert and assist in training  whenever required.
  • Optimizing Ad Campaigns
  • Reviewing sales proposals for digital ad inventory accuracy and potential challenges, managing daily inventory requests from Sales
  • Utilizing order management & reporting systems, providing recommendations to Sales questions
  • Creation of custom campaign performance reports
  • Reviewing web analytic data to identify trends
  • Providing periodic operational reports, including ad traffic, sales, ad and cpc revenue, co-brand partner views/visit and clicks
  • Extensive interaction with the sales team, sales support team and accounting departments
  • Liaising with editorial to ensure campaign fulfillments
  • Playing a key role in all inventory management, inventory forecasting and optimization efforts
  • Analyzing current and historical ad delivery and site traffic trends to forecast future inventory availability, utilizing advanced statistical modeling
  • Developing insightful quantitative analysis, reporting and predictive models to support well-informed decision making regarding pricing, inventory and yield management
  • Proactively monitoring & reporting on inventory utilization to identify actionable intelligence to increase yield.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent and experience within Ad Ops including monitoring and managing the delivery of campaigns, managing ad inventory, and working on ad serving systems.

  • Ability to quickly learn new technology platforms
